The Band Page of Jeff Mucha

First (and only thus far) album:

Blue Skies

By Jeff Mucha

This CD was recorded on my computer. The tracks were not edited, the sound went down in 16bit 44khz digital audio and was then burned onto CD and converted to Mp3s for your pleasure.

Hopefully some day my voice will improve and I can go somewhere with a music career. But for now I will stick to the garage mixing studio equivalent for a college student living in the dorms.

When I was putting down the songs I kept it in the back of my head that I should keep the lyrics simple and try to make them catchy, the result was however that some came through and some were corny as hell.

Writing Music is a long process that involves getting an idea and then working with it. A tune or some lyrics to these songs came to me when I was taking a shower, driving in my car, or running to somewhere. And some just came to me when I decided that I was going to sit down and write a song.

I know I have a way to go, but ya have to start somewhere.

To listen to these files you will need an Mpeg Layer 3 player. I recommend Winamp or Macamp.

Gwenterra Park New 4 track remix**

**if you only listen to one of my songs make this one it.

Here is the equipment we use to record and mix the songs, or at least the ones we do now. There on the bed is my friend Donovan Childers he is the sound engineer for our band and he is top notch.

Currently we use a 4 track mixer, a Pentium 166 computer, a stereo compressor, a Midiverb hall effects generator, an 8 track mixer and 2 matched studio mics.

We put down Gwenterrah Park with 4 tracks where I played acustic guitar and vocal and then palyed bass guitar, where as Donovan played drums until he wore out the 4 track tape (got it down right.)

People ask me what or Gwenterrah Park really is and I tell them that it is the place I found the girlfriend I never had. I made it up. Emotions tell people many things.

We hope to have a lot more equipment in the future as well a a lot more song titles.

Technical Jargon about the Blue Skies recording:

This CD was created using the line-in input on my Mac clone computer with an electret mic picking up the voice and a 600 Ohm dynamic mic picking up the Guitar. I made an amplifier for the mics to get them to the 2 volt peak too peak level. I used the National Semiconductor LF356 Op-amp and used positive feedback. Since I only used one 9 volt battery to power the two chips I had to set up a resistor divider to get the levels to float where they could oscillate, otherwise the output would be half wave rectified. I don't know why you need to know that, too late. Mpeg audio Layer 3 is a versitle format streamable in many different bitrates.
